The Truth About Self Improvement

See this content in the original post

Self-improvement is simple. All you need to do is ask yourself if you are a better person today than you were yesterday. Ask yourself this every day. If you are always answering yes, then congratulations my man, you are improving.

If the answer is always no, then you are not improving. You stagnate, and that is the absolute worst place for a man to be.

Self-improvement is not something that happens overnight and that discourages so many people from even starting. But self-improvement is a journey, not a destination.

The majority of the population is lazy. Society wants instant gratification and they whine when they can’t have it. But the world treats those individuals like a strong parent treats their child - They let them stomp their feet and pout, but they won’t give in to what their child wants.

The world will not just give you good looks, muscles, and a ton of money just because you want them. Even if the world were to suddenly just drop these gifts in your lap, it might feel good for a short period of time, but it would be unauthentic.

It is always better to build something yourself and be proud of your work than to be handed something. Let’s also not forget the fact that anything worthwhile never comes easy.

People admire men who started from the bottom and then made themselves great.

You would be much more inclined to tell a person about how you overcame adversity and made yourself rich than telling them that your parents just had handed you a bunch of money...

Every professional was once an amateur. The difference between the professional and the amateur is that the professional took a step forward to be better than average. The amateur stayed in place and said, “I’m fine right here”.

Chances are you have done something in your life that you never thought you could do before. If there is ever a time that you think you cannot do something, remind yourself of that moment.  You overcame your own self-doubt and achieved something. No matter what that something was, you did it. You can do it again.

You just need to move your feet. You know what it is you need to do to better yourself. You have an image in your mind of the beautiful person you want to become. Go become him.

The way to do this is simple:

Just be better than you were yesterday.

Don’t try to be better than anyone else. This would be a pointless journey based on someone who doesn’t matter. The only person who matters is you.

Benchmarking your success against others will just result in misery. There is always someone greater than you but that doesn’t matter.

Who you are today vs. who you are tomorrow is the only thing you need to be concerned with.

Today, be better than you were yesterday. Tomorrow, be better than you are today.

One day you will wake up and realize you are great. But you even won’t care; you’re too busy becoming even greater.
