THE BEST DENIM JACKETS FOR MEN

A good denim jacket is my favorite type of fall outerwear for so many reasons.

It's an item that can make even a simple outfit look cool. It has a ton of pockets, so it makes it the perfect travel jacket. It's cotton, so it's easy to care for. Compared to leather, these jackets are super affordable. And most of all, I love these jackets because they're actually terrible at keeping you warm... hear me out.

Denim jackets are, from a thermoregulation standpoint, terrible, which is why I love them. You can layer a sweater under them, or you can layer a heavy coat over them. They're the perfect middle-ground item.

When we think of a denim jacket, we usually think of something like the ones pictured below. However, the style of the jacket is actually known as a "Trucker" jacket and can be made with all sorts of different materials, but nearly all the trucker jackets you see out there will be made from denim.

These trucker-style jackets notoriously fit terribly. They can be very boxy, and usually, the sleeves will run long. This is just the style of the jacket. Still, I found it frustrating to find ones that actually fit and look good. So today, I'll share some of my favorites if you want to pick up one of these fall staples.

POLO RL

A personal favorite that has been in my closet for the past four years and is always worn when I travel. It's got an excellent mid-blue color, and it continues to look better with age. I've tailored the sleeves up on mine. It does run a bit large, so if you're in between, size down.

7 FOR ALL MANKIND

One of the things I love about this is the amount of stretch it has. If you're familiar with 7 For All Mankind, you'll know they excel at stretch fabric denim, and this is no exception.

ZARA

Affordable and fits well. I'm not a huge fan of fast fashion, but this does the trick for certain price points, and because you won't be washing it/wearing it all the time, it's less likely to break down like some of the other items you might buy from fast fashion stores.

TOM FORD

A beautiful example of a denim jacket from Tom Ford. Made from Japanese denim, this thing gives you an elevated take on a classic.

MAVI JEANS

Like 7 For All Mankind, this jacket has a good amount of built-in stretch to keep you comfortable with a great fit. A great intersection between price, quality, and style.
