Our Favorite Brands for Fall Style

This time of year, a lot of our clients are turning their eye toward building or supplementing their Autumn wardrobe. While you may not be feeling the chill in the air quite yet, this is an excellent time to start sourcing items so that they’ll arrive by the time the weather changes (and so you don’t fall in love with something only to find that it’s out of stock because other guys beat you to the punch). Read below for our guide to some basic starting points on where and what to purchase to have a great Fall style every day:

WHERE TO SHOP:

While there are a ton of options out there, here are some of the top shopping destinations that we’ve found work well for almost any guy:

Rowan

Billy Reid

Vince

Faherty

Rodd & Gunn

WHAT TO GET:

It of course depends on you, your tastes, your budget, and what you already have in your closet, but here are some notable items that are a good starting point for styling yourself this Fall:

Coats + Jackets

Quilted Barbour Jacket - An iconic staple colder weather piece. James Bond was seen wearing something similar in the movie Skyfall. It keeps you warm without sacrificing style.

Harrington Jacket From Rodd & Gunn - A great mid-weight jacket with an attractive price point. This works great with a pair of jeans and boots, as well as other fall staples.

Twill Field Jacket From Rowan - The lightest weight jacket of the bunch. This item works more like an overshirt and pairs easily over something as simple as a white tee.

Casual Blazer from Faherty - Something that can dress up a date night and still be ultra comfortable.

For coats, we would again recommend Suit Supply, like this more casual option here, or this slightly dressier option

Sweaters

Cashmere Crewneck Sweater From Banana Republic - The quality at BR has felt higher recently, and there stores have undergone some great renovations. Here, this gives you a parable cashmere sweater, for non-cashmere prices and an attractive fit.

Half Zip Sweater From Billy Reid - These half zips are great because you can layer something underneath like a tee, all the way up to a collared shirt. This one has some interesting details and a unique texture that makes it stand out a bit in a simple way.

Washed Crewneck Sweater From Faherty - An interesting waffle knit texture with a faded and washed look, this sweater has more character than your traditional crewneck.

Pants

Chino From Faherty - A classic look and a pair of pants you can wear year round, available in a variety of neutral colors.

Tweed Trousers From Rails - A slightly heavier pair of pants in autumn's favorite fabric - tweed. This is a great look when you're sick of wearing jeans. These pair great with some sort of sweater on top.

Jeans from AG - Most men fit well into AG's Tellis Fit - A fit that isn't too slim or baggy. These have a good amount of stretch to them as well, ensuring all-day comfort.

Shoes

Chelsea Boots From Morjas - A great brand that offers high-quality footwear at an attractive price point with many different options.

Tan Derby From Todd Snyder - A casual shoe with great autumn coloring that works well with jeans or heavier fabric trousers.

High Top Sneaker From Converse - A classic pair that goes with almost any casual outfit. Higtops for fall, low tops for summer.

Chukka Boots From Allen Edmonds - Chukkas go with most things. They can be dressed up or down and this pair is no exception. Allen Edmonds has been making great shoes for over 100 years so always a safe bet.

Remember that there is no one-size-fits-all list when it comes to personal style, so if you’re ready for a customized, pro-level roadmap for how to elevate your look, check out our style services here.

Hope that helps.
