The Best Men's Shoe Brands
Stylish footwear that is high quality can be hard to find.
The first pair of shoes I can remember buying with my own money for "style" purposes was from Aldo. I thought they were the coolest-looking shoes, but man, did they hurt. Not only that, they deteriorated within months.
Things like Tees are an item where we can cheap out a bit. Shoes, however, are one of those items it pays to invest in.
Think about it - they're on your feet all day, so you need comfort; they are constantly in contact with the ground, getting beat up; and you only have a limited selection. Plus, shoes are one of those small details that can make or break an outfit.
Let's go over the brands that make stuff I like. Like all the brands I recommend, when looking for the best, you want to go to specialists: Brands that focus exclusively (or at least are known for) the type of product you're looking for and who have a long history of doing so. Sort of like a male personal stylist, who only works with men, and only in menswear...
So let's get into it.
A classic brand that has been making Goodyear-welted shoes for over 100 years. This brand is best used for boots and dress shoes. It's typically the "starter" brand for good shoes. They offer a wide variety of options, including really small / big / wide / narrow options.
MORJAS
A bit of a newer brand, but the quality here has really impressed me and they have good options for different types of stylish footwear from ultra casual to dressy, without being overly intimidating.
GRANT STONE
Goodyear welted stuff from a smaller brand focusing on higher quality production. I like the boots and loafers from these guys. They have a "sturdier" looking product that works well for the outdoor/rugged type of guy.
KOIO
These guys specialize in sneakers, both high and low tops, specifically leather. I've personally owned 3 or 4 pairs from these guys. Lots of color options here as well.
